How wheel poke and inner clearance are compared

This tool compares two wheel widths and signed offsets from the mounting face. It reports how much farther the proposed outer rim edge sits toward the fender and how suspension-side rim position changes.

Geometry used

Half of nominal wheel width is converted from inches to millimetres. The nominal outer position is half-width minus offset; the nominal inner position is half-width plus offset. Differences between proposed and current positions produce outer poke change and inner-clearance change.

How to read the result

Positive outward change means the proposed rim edge sits farther toward the fender. A negative inner-clearance change means the proposed inner rim edge consumes more suspension-side space. These are nominal rim-edge comparisons, not tire-sidewall or vehicle-body measurements.

Frequently asked questions

Does lower offset always create more poke?

With wheel width unchanged, reducing positive offset moves the whole wheel outward. When width changes too, both width and offset determine the final edge positions.

Does this prove the wheel clears my strut?

No. It can compare nominal geometry, but physical strut, brake and body clearance require measurements on the vehicle.
